How OM Shiva Foundation collects, uses, and protects your personal data.
Who we are
OM Shiva Foundation (“we”) is the Data Fiduciary responsible for the personal data collected through this website, under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Membership: name, phone, email, address, date of birth, marriage anniversary, occupation, introducer details, and a photo (if you provide one).
- Payments: payer name/phone, amount, payment reference (UTR), and any screenshot you upload — for membership fees and donations.
- Contact messages: name, optional email/phone, and your message.
- Operational logs: limited security/audit logs (e.g. who verified a payment) to protect the service.
Why we use it
To process and manage your membership, issue ID cards and receipts, verify and record payments, respond to your enquiries, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.
Consent
We collect and process your data based on the consent you give when you submit a form on this site. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, or records we must retain by law.
Retention
Membership and payment records are retained for as long as you are a member and thereafter for the period required by applicable accounting and legal rules. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and you may raise a grievance. To exercise these rights, contact us at omshivafoundation.official@gmail.com. On an erasure request we remove or anonymise your personal data, except records we are legally required to retain (such as financial receipts).
How we protect it
Access is restricted by role, passwords are hashed, transport is encrypted (HTTPS), uploads are sanitised, and sensitive actions are rate-limited and audit-logged. In the event of a personal-data breach, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected individuals as required, within the timelines set by law.
